Garbolage was a high school project that I wrote a story about many years later. This artwork, designed to illustrate the story, was created from images in my memory of repurposed items and Papier-Mâché. I used a monochromatic palette of Yellow + black and white to create hues of Greens and Greys to reflect the essence of garbage, raw sewage, and deterioration. Spot colors of Wasabi Green and Cerulean and Ocean Blues were added as contrasting rays of hope. Rivets (Upholstery Tacks) were added to the painted edges of the canvas for an industrial, steam-punk look.
