The original objective in creating this monochromatic piece was to feature the color, Orange. The combination of Orange + black and white makes up a rich palette of Oranges, Browns, and warm Greys. This way I could use it as a singular work or mix and match with my Orange Monochromatic figurative work, as well as other geometric pieces with the same patterns and palette. After an associate looked at the work, they quipped, “It looks like Pi.” I like the concept that observation conjured up and wanted to entitle it Pi, but though that word by itself was too short.
