A Piece of Pi

The original objective in creating this piece was to showcase orange. The combination of orange, black, and white resulted in a rich palette of oranges, browns, and warm greys. However, this palette seemed somewhat dreary, prompting the creation of a new collection of warm earth tones to inject vitality into the work. When she first saw the piece, my wife quipped, “It looks like Pi.” I was excited by this idea and considered entitling it Pi, but I felt that word alone was a bit insufficient.
