I reworked this older piece to reflect the style of my current artwork and to breathe new life into this somber painting once titled, “Out of Turn.” Originally, the backdrop of this monochromatic work of Orange + Black and White was a bare paneled wall. To contrast the activity inside the Pussycat Parlor (a fictional nightclub) I created a window (framed by a cold brick wall) that looks out onto an unlit, lonely cityscape. I added a jacket and hat to the man on the stool (is he coming or going?). And placed an American Acoustic guitar at his feet. I reworked the man dancing as well, adding detail with glasses and a hat. The orange tabby is a holdover from the original painting. The lively crow was added to contrast the lounging feline.
