At 30”x24” this interpretation of Grant Wood’s original work (30.75”x24,75”) is closer in size than my first effort (12”x12”). Besides my usual straight edges and circle templates (for the fine work), I used plates, bowls, and a soap dish to create the curves throughout this piece. Large panel shapes were brushed in with acrylic paint (some colors I mixed, others were straight from the tube), and the details were achieved with acrylic paint pens. The classic window and my use of heavy, black outline, give the painting a rich, gothic look.
