To create this artistic hybrid, Denny reworked a painting he had reworked before that wasn’t working… Again. Denny liked the black and white “Art Deco” border and decided to keep it. While working on a “Starry Night” piece, Denny had glanced over at an “American Gothic” piece in the studio he had also been working on and wondered what it would look like to combine the two, to have Starry Night as American Gothic’s backdrop. Denny thought this was a brilliant idea. Upon further research, Denny found out… it was. It seems that many people had done the very same thing, but not like he did.
