To create this 6th interpretation of Grant Wood’s classic work, I started by reworking an unfinished geometric abstract piece. I liked the black and white border of the original artwork, so, I kept it as is and added black buttons to complete the Art Deco look, a style that was popular during the time Wood completed his painting in 1930.At this smaller scale, I chose crop in on the two main figures (and the house), to focus on their Americana and the house’s Gothic architecture.
