In this Monochromatic piece of Yellow + Black and White, I put together an urban scene using four different photographic references and a bit of imagination. Feeling like the work was incomplete, I added a checkerboard border for an iconic taxicab look. And by creating a lonely street scene with single point perspective and unlit buildings, I echoed the feeling of the painting’s one-word title.
