Gush!

The title of came to me in a “Gush” of inspiration while I was working on the detail of this piece. The concept was inspired by the linework I was doing on an umbrella painting with its rain coming down. I was turning that piece this way and that way as I worked on the rainy line pattern and its bubbling linework puddles. As I rotated the work to a 90^o angle, I stepped back, looked at the work, and wondered what would be like to have the rain (water) gushing sideways. The idea of the hydrant scene came soon after.
