This was my first attempt at a small geometric painting. During the process I wasn’t so sure that the size was going to work. It wasn’t impressive. It wasn’t dynamic. It wasn’t ideal. But as the finishing work was implemented, the piece became impressive, dynamic, and ideal.
I wanted this painting to resemble the face of a potter’s kiln and give it a fiery title, but as the work developed, it began looking more and more like the face of an ornate slot or vending machine or perhaps a classic Jukebox… At least in the eyes of this beholder.
