 Why is the Bullfrog escaping the ominous, brooding sky? A foreboding sky that sets the mood for the entire painting. A painting rendered in a monochromatic palette of Yellow + Black and White, with a spot color of Cerulean Blue (medium and light). Besides the whimsical subject matter and title, the focus of this piece is the geometric, abstract patterning creating depth and movement in the boy’s button-down shirt. The intricate design was created with brushed acrylic paint and acrylic paint pens (rendered with a straight edge).
