My initial concept for this piece involved creating a composition centered around the negative space of multiple circles. That idea remained consistent throughout the creative process. By positioning two circles of varying sizes in close proximity, I generated intriguing secondary shapes within the negative space. Following an extended period of reflection, I determined that the painting did not align with the aesthetic of my more recent work. So, I applied my current earthy color palette and reworked the linework to update the painting's visual appeal. While this revision process unfolded smoothly, the circle situated in the lower right corner presented a challenge. Initially, this element featured a gear-like shape with blunt, blocky teeth. However, upon reapplying linework over the updated colors, the lines became increasingly messy and awkward, prompting me to modify the gear's teeth to form a perfectly smooth circle.
