Inspired by a previous piece featuring a trio of reddish fish, I conceptualized a split shot composition depicting a snow-capped peak rising out of the sea, with migrating fish below, and up above a watchful sun. To create the large curves of these geometric fish, I utilized an oval, stoneware serving dish from our kitchen. The other curved and straight lines of this artwork were rendered using acrylic paint pens, straight edges, circle templates, and the oval glass-top from my wife's wine rack. The title of the artwork is derived from a quadrathlon relay race held in my hometown for 29 years, featuring skiing, biking, running, and paddling, it covered over 35 miles from Ridge to River.
