I often have a title in mind as a starting point when beginning a new piece. In the case of this painting, the title came during the color blocking stage as the images began to take shape. A pyramid-like form has been a recurring element in my work. The triangular shape and cascading curves in this painting (the primary starting point of the composition) gave it Egyptian-like mythological imagery that led me to its heavenly title (with no Zeppelin influence).
