 Originally, this summery piece was designed around a black and white target centerpiece. When the target idea wasn’t working, I switched to a crosshair motif as a graphic element for the sun design. As I completed the detail work with acrylic paint pens, straight edges, and shape templates, the painting seemed dark, and dull. To counteract this visual lack of enthusiasm, I employed white pinstripe lines to orbit the central circles, creating a more dynamic look.
