 I have designed directional planal borders before, and this time I incorporated stripes to accentuate the border's contrasting directional planes. Abandoning the traditional yellow sun and blue-sky motif, I explored a muted, subdued earth tone palette. Rendered in acrylic paint and detailed with acrylic paint pens and various shape templates, the earth tones of this "Sun" piece shines dark.
