In continuing the Freedom of Music series, I created a small study-like image of Lady Liberty and her American Acoustic guitar. To make this piece work at this smallish size, many of the shapes and details of its predecessors had to be simplified or omitted. Although the basic shapes were brushed in with acrylic color, the detail was achieved with acrylic paint pens, straight (and curved) edges, and round templates. Lady Liberty symbolizes many freedoms. In this painting, she allows us to believe in the freedom of music.
