The initial concept for this piece was to create a square formatted painting where the central image wrapped around onto the sides of the canvas. The tricky part was the transition from the front onto the side (a lot of trial and error). I used a combination of brushed acrylic paint and acrylic paint pens (along with various templates) to render my interpretation of Van Gogh’s classic work. Bold, dynamic lines and contrasting colors of yellow and blue help my Starry Night shine.
