I took the image (or layout) of my original “Three Sisters” painting (a 24”x48” panoramic) and cropped it down to a smaller square format. The newer rendition of this highly abstract landscape zeroed in on the three snow-topped peaks. I kept with the basic tertiary color palette I had used in “Three Sisters #1.” The heavy black outlines made the oranges, greens, and purples, along with their adjacent (on the color wheel) accent colors really pop. With brushed on acrylic paints for the planal sections, and acrylic paint pens (with straight edges and circle templates) for the linear detail, I brought the Three Sisters alive with brilliant color.
