This piece was created like a sculptor using its mallet and chisel. I drew the image as I saw it, then started whittling away the unnecessary lines, shapes, and details. I was refining, sculpting, and modifying until I had the basic shapes down to a stylized, primal form. Originally, I wanted to paint the border and edges a warm, brownish gold for a classic look. Unable to find or mix just the right hue, I chose a deep java brown instead for a darker, moodier feel – A real Thriller! (insert Vincent Price’s laugh here).
